Hey,
Emily and Van, You may find this interesting. I have been fortunate to have met some of the sweetest people on here. CindyKay being one of them. We went out for BBQ at prissy pollys in Kernersville. Great Great stuff! one of our hush puppies was in the shape of an 8, an almost direct replica of the fox8 logo. So we decided to take a pic of it and share it with all! Tell us what you think!
-Jason
We formed Fox out of our fries.. kind of altered them a bit.. but the hush puppie thats how it was.. unaltered!

CBS has this new show coming out in Fall. I think its an outrage, 40 kids being left alone.. how is this leagally possible?
Lets say i were to call CPS (child protection services) and say hey.. i have a 10 year old and a 12 year old at home.. i think ill leve them alone for 40 days.. just to see if they can make it.. is that cool with you guys?
what kind of response do you think i would get? id probobly get cuffs and jail. How can a major network get away with this???

Is it just me, or do trof's produce more storms in the summer than cold fronts do? We had a trof come thorough yesterday, and i think that every county in the Fox 8 viewing area was under a warning at one time or another. Do Trof's produce greater lift in the atmosphere than cold fronts do?

I am going to try and word this to where it makes sence. The other night we got some snow here in the triad. It is spring time and i think the normal highs are supposed to be in the mid 60's. My question is, if this were fall, what time of year would it be for normals highs and lows that they are this time of year, being that we got snow in april, what time of year would that be like in the fall? would that be like getting snow in october? I hope this makes sence.

I came to my computer like I always do to check the news on this website. I seen that Officer Plouff had died... For all who may read this take a minute to pray for his family. Something like this isnt just another news story. We can say all day yes.. his family is in our thoughts and prayers.. But do we actually take a few minutes out to pray for his family. He died protecting people for the city that i live in. I have many police friends, and stories like this really do hit home. So please if you will, take just a moment to really pray for his family and friends, and fellow brothers of this great police department in Winston-Salem.

here is my long range forecast.... looking ahead to 2-21. I see all of the forecast models for the first time coming into agreement. It will be a very very cold dark dreary day for NC State fans... especially Van Denton. The GFS model, or the "Going For State" Model is showing a huge dive in the scoreboard to NC State as UNC whoops up on em. The ETA model or "Everyone loves Tarheels Association, is predicting scores as high as 100+ for the tarheels, while it keeps the scoreboard for state less than 25. That is in good agreement with the GFS. Now lets look at the MOS... or the Most Obvious State... will loose model. I tend to agree with this one, along with the others,so my prediction for 2-21 is a cold dreary day, for all of you state fans
GO HEELS!!!!!!!

Let me start off by saying thank you guys at the fox8 weather team for all of your hard work. You are the best in the business. Yea.. we missed a good snow today, we got ripped off. had that low tracked 30 miles further north, we would have gotten our snow. Meteorologist use models to PREDICT what is going to happen. They do not use crystal balls. Most model runs had it taking a track that favors good winter weather for our area. This is one of the toughest places in the US to predict winter weather. Its always going to be a hit or a miss. and it only takes 30 miles to get ripped off like we did today.
Im glad that we were warned that the POTENTIAL existed for us to get a big winter storm. Just think if we weren't warned, and we did get a big one. We had lots of time to prepare for what COULD happen. Id rather be ready for nothing, than not be ready for something. Just my thoughts. thanks again guys for the great work!

This is the coolest thing... did you all notice that the phone number given in tonights episode was a real one?? 24 has done this before. the number is 310-597-3781. When you call you get a recording. I have heard rumors through the fox.com/24 message board that once in a blue moon, a producer will answer, and some have spoken with the cast members. That hasnt happned to me though. I think that its great that fox does this for the fans. Thought you all may find this interesting.

Please help me understand something..... Crude oil, the controling factor in gas prices is the lowest its been since may of 2005. it went below $50.00 per barrel today... why is gas still high? This past fall it was 1.98 in spots when crude oil was higher... why are the gas prices higher now, when crude oil is lower? I think that this is where the oil companies make thier profits, when crude oil goes up, they spike the prices up, but when it drops like a rock, as it is doing now, gas prices SLOWLY go down.

I do not in anyway think that the warm weather we have been having is attributed to gloabal warming.... nor any of the other weather. Alot of media outlets have been screaming global warming... But what about now??? We are getting ready to go into well below avarage temps for the last half of winter. There have been huge snow and ice storms in the midwest.. all the way down to texas, deep freezes in calafornia. Global warming?? I havent heard it mentioned in the past week... mabey now we are going into another ice age?? Another example, think about the "05" hurricane season, the worst known to us in a while. I feel for all of the people whos lives were affected in that, but it was not, in my opinion due to global warming.... Where, were those people this past hurricane season when we had a below avarage hurricane season.. does global warming do that too? You have to look at the weather PATTERN that we are in, there were warmer years in the past, warmer winters... its all part of the type of weather patter you are in. Just like hurricanes... they run in cycles. Some years are worst than others, Its just part of the weather cycle..
This years winter has been controled by the NAO..among other things.. that is the North Atlantic Ocscilation.. google it to learn more on how it plays a part in our weather patterns... When it is positive, like it has been for a while now, the winter is usually very warm here.. when it goes negative... the winter is usually colder and stormier... The latest computer models that track this are showing it going strongly negative for the rest of the month.
This is just my opinion, I am no meteorolgist, but i just hate that any kind of weather that we are having.. is blamed on something like gloabl warming.... or El Nino..... its just the pattern we are in... just my thoughts.

Giving Thanks For
Little Ones
When celebrating Thanksgiving this year, be sure to include your furry best
friend in the festivities. After all, aren't you thankful for their loving
loyal companionship, not to mention their absolutely adorable one-of-a-kind
personality?
When preparing the table for your holiday dinner, put out a place setting for
your pooch. Even if the setting will be placed on the floor when dinner
begins, guests (and your dog!) will be charmed when they see a cute doggie
placemat, an extra-fancy bowl, and special treats right alongside the "human"
place
settings.
Once the meal is served, offer your dog their usual food, but this time give
them a little bit less so they can share a bite of Thanksgiving dinner. A
small cut-up piece of turkey breast is fine, however do not offer bones of any
kind, (they can splinter and cause internal upset). Plain mashed-up sweet
potato
or other vegetables are a great option too. Make certain if they're saturated
in butter or sauce you rinse them off prior to mashing. For a safe
Thanksgiving, please avoid feeding your little one grapes, raisins, macadamia
nuts,
chocolate, onions, desserts, and dairy products.
May you, your canine cutie, and all your loved ones have a happy, delicious
Thanksgiving!
