What do you suggest be done to "fix" the problem?

One "small" thing the government could do would be to try just a little to keep jobs in America instead of standing at the dock waving at them as they leave....give incentives to the companys in the form of tax breaks or whatever to keep them here. They have to stay here, can Uncle Sucker not understand that ?

Good evenin', all.....The Chiefs/ Indians scenario reminds me for some reason of the Stockholder/ hourly paid Brothers (including me) scenario....

Just some stray thought that happened to flit in from somewhere.....

Reckon there's anything to that?

I hired the homeless in my business for about 7 years, but its been ten years back. There are about four levels of homelessness, that I found: A. truly homeless and wanted it that way. B. too lazy to work, so they constantly play a petty scam on all who will listen and give them a dollar or two, that they can spend on drugs or alchohol. C. mentally challenged or suffering from delusions and just can't make it in society. D. those who have just lost their ability to pay. These often adjust, get help, and get back on their feet.

I can see programs to help those who will work. Everyone can do something, if its only shining door knobs, or sweeping floors.

Hey, mrm -

Any choice between hungry, and digging ditches, I'll file my shovel....Some folks are better than me, I guess....(I've done it anyway, pays the same...) - Why?...I've been hungry, nothing romantic about it at all....ego vs. eating, at the bottom line, ego will have eating's boot in it's ass every time!

I missed almost a year of work last year (BADLY broken left leg, which is how I discovered BLOGGING), w/ plenty of time to terrorize the local Library.....I saw an old movie, and it inspired me to investigate....I ended up with a Book called "The Modern Hobo", which closely resembled our younger Camping trips (less the Prize fighting and the Psychos) -

Not to offend you, but I think alot of these unmarried, renting guys might fully embrace that (No Parents, kids, wife, close Fam, etc)...There's got to be a living wage somewhere....Be ironic if it turned out to be in Southern Mexico, wouldn't it?

I undertand some of the more QUALIFIED Brothers can make 14 Pesos an hour!...

Too much fresh seafood, shack on the Beach, no Taxes, cheap CERVEZA...maybe NAFTA does have a purpose... :D

Hello, mrm....You've got an established business, also, don't you?

Up 'till 10 or so years ago, I could have thrown my junk in the back of the truck, and hauled butt to anywhere I wanted, without a backward glance....

As time passed, I gradually accumulated all the Physical crap I thought was important....GOOD fishing equipment, coupla not-overly-fancy boats, guitar/ musical stuff, a house and land (not overly fancy, but they CAN'T TAKE IT), another WIFE of all things, and more tools of ALL trades than one man should be allowed to own.....

Downshot is, now I don't own IT, IT OWNS ME....helluva thing to fuss about, I know....

Taxes aside, I still once in a while have the urge to put up signs advertising a HUGE Yard Sale, if you get my drift....?

Oh, well...
