I'm sure you all have heard about the NC State Trooper David Shawn Blanton Jr, that was killed around Asheville about a month ago. I recently heard on a local radio station that this story is even more heart breaking. A couple of weeks prior to this tragedy, the Trooper's wife gave birth to a premature baby. Once they get the baby's weight to 5 lbs., he will have to undergo heart surgery.
93.1 the wolf will be at Costco tomorrow, Friday 7/11/08, in Greensboro from 7 until 7 taking donations. We all know how expense medical care can be, especially in this situation.

I am wondering if anyone knows if there are any no kill shelters in NC? I was awakened around 6 am this past Saturday morning by the sounds of a screaming kitten. I went outside to get it and see if there were any other kittens or the mother but it was just him. I noticed he was dragging one of his legs, so I got him in to see the vet. Apparently, the leg was broken and cannot be fixed, however it doesn't seem to bother him, although he drags it along and walks with a limp.
Anyway, to make a long story short, I had thought about taking him to the shelter, but because it is overcrowded, the vet and I are afraid because of his leg, he might not appear "adoptable". Although I would love to keep him, I already have 8 cats. So, I am trying to find any information about somewhere I can take him and not have to worry about him being put to sleep.

I was very saddened today to learn of the tragic death of Dr. David Ross. Early this year, I was involved in a traffic accident that left me with a broken ankle and required surgery. I was fortunate to have Dr. Ross as my doctor. The care this man showed me was unlike the care I've ever received from ANY other doctor. He called me from his home to check in on me, even giving me his home number in case of any problems. It was obvious Dr. Ross really cared for his patients and he will be deeply missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

A friend told me about this the other day. I believe that when someone does good, it deserves just as much attention as the bad.

Vick wasn't forced into participating and I think, and hope, that this is a step in the right direction for him by admitting his mistakes and taking steps to change his future actions.

I am thinking about making a trip to check out the Carolina Panthers for a day during their training camp. I've done some research online to find out the dates and times, but I wanted to know if anyone has ever been before and could give me an idea of what it's like?

I was recently in an auto accident and suffered a broken ankle. The other driver received a ticket and her insurance has accepted the liability. My injury required surgery on my ankle.
I have had numerous people tell me that I should get an attorney since I had to have surgery, to make sure I get the money my claim is worth. Has anyone been in this type of situation and if so, can anyone give me their opinion on whether or not an attorney is helpful?
