Who here is outraged that FedEx has not only announced delaying it but backing out on their employment promises? Wasn't a specific number promised by them and if so wasn't a tax package given to them in light of that promise? If so Guildford county or the State whoever gave them a tax package should back out on that to match their new estimated employee numbers to be hired. Dell laid it on Forsyth County now it looks like FedEx is using Guildford as well. These corporations need to have the packages given to them either taken away or adjusted. Either way I'm now less likely to use FedEx.

Wow this world is just going nuts, a 16 year old girl shoots one of the boys that was fighting over her. My first question is why is a 16 year old out at 10:30 pm? What were they fighting over? The right to have sexual relations or what? This is what happens when parents decide to give their children all the freedoms of adulthood at such young ages all in the name of "It's proper to allow children to do whatever they want because we want to be friends with our children and it's just the way it is nowadays".

When I was 16 (many years ago) we had a curfew enforced by parents who were parents that acted like parents at 9 PM no questions and no exceptions.  Most of my friends and myself never got in much trouble outside of normal stuff anyway and we certainly didn't shoot anyone and this girl seemed to do it casually. Secondly, why did these children have a gun? Just another case of lack of parenting and lack of morality being instilled in children. I just never cease to be shocked by this kind of behavour as alot of this can be solved by parents who interact AS parents with their children. Part of acting AS parents is teaching them what is right and what is wrong not being buddies with them.

Ok this bailout business is now going too far, mayors around the country along with Winston Salem asking foir a bailout? Why should they be bailed out because of their bad management? This bailout is nothing more than a money grab oh gimme gimme! Mayor of Winston Salem I truly hope you read the blogs here as I have something to say, don't be a greedy B_ _ _ _ _ _ fill in the blanks there.

Instead manage the budget better think of it as your personal checkbook Mr. Mayor if your checkbook had $1,000 in it would you write a check for $5,000? This bailout demand announced after a school bond vote was taken in november, where is that money coming from if the cities broke? Quit the gluttonness spending you should know how much money the city has coming in yearly adjust your budget accordingly it isn't rocket science!

Why do I have a feeling this is a stealthy move? What I mean by that is he's going to ask for even more tax hikes and point at this "cry for help" as evidence of needing it? I also fail to see how bailing your city out Mr. Mayor creates jobs, we all know what you're really going to do with it spend spend spend! Everyone's on a spending spree and now the shoppers are going to the piggy bank asking for more. So tired of this business, bailing out the banks, now bailing out the big 3 auto makers which actually is just a stealthy move by the govt. to move towards socialism with this Auto Czar along with certain controls. Don't count on re-election if you get this bailout Mr. Mayor :-)

Since we end up having to pay the light bill for the Christmas tree and for the Christmas lights around downtown, shouldn't we get a vote on what to call the parade? They call it holiday parade it should be Christmas Parade. With all the taxes we ALREADY pay why should we pick up the electric bill anyway? Since we have to then the city should have the lights on for only 2 hours 7 to 9 pm.

Anyone else dislike the new names being proposed? I liked the Warthogs now they're choosing from these names:

• Aviators
• Dash or The Dash
• Racers
• Rhinos
• Wallbangers

Funny thing is two of these names come from Madden Football games lol and none of them have anything to do with Winston Salem or the Triad when's the last time you seen a Rhino around here? None of em have a nice ring to them Winston Wallbangers makes you think of a drink Harvey Wallbanger, Winston Aviators don't exactly roll off the tongue, Winston The Dash? no comment. Winston Racers probably has the most in common with the triad than the others with the NASCAR involvement here, Winston Rhinos? sorry that just don't make sense. Not that it really matters anymore to me as I've attended my last game to watch this team anyway I don't like the new location and I don't like they uprooted people that were living there in the rush to spend more of our tax dollars. I liked the old stadium.

Well this is no surprise that liberal/socialist supporters would get biligerant at a McCain/Palin rally. It's a tired old tactic of theirs, verbally or even physically abuse anyone who dares to think about voting for someone other than their guy. At Democrat rallies you'll see conservative demonstrators with signs that are civil and act civil for the most part, not vulgar, abusive signs and acting abusive towards people. Wouldn't surprise me if I wore a McCain/Palin button on my shirt going into the polls that I'd get this same treatment, not that I would as it's noone's business as I go into the poll who I'm voting for.

It's also noone's business when they call from some poll, I give them false information everytime I have a feeling there's several people that do this same thing, that's why I pay no attention to the polls anyway. Their questions are such that lead you to certain answers anyway so I just play along and give them the answers they're looking for lol.

I was just reading on some websites of Seti at home groups websites. These scientists seem to think if they prove we're not alone in the universe this proves there's no GOD. They couldn't be more wrong if they tried, they're reacting to what people have said not GOD or his word that there's no aliens. Truth is the Bible neither acknowledges or denies their existance in fact there's no mention at all about this subject in the Bible.

The Bible never says one word about us being the only beings in the universe people have just assumed this. Just makes me laugh that these supposed super brains are reacting to what some christians have said about us being alone and never actually checking the Bible for this statement. I thought they checked everything out to make sure everythings right? I guess in the end they're no smarter than us...
