Let me start off by saying that I am in no way meaning to hurt feelings with this blog, or to cause trouble. I want to know how you guys feel about this subject.
Last night, I decided to watch American Idol. Little did I know, the show would be broadcasting all different types of nationalities and cultures. It seemed to me that the show would let us see foreigners who could sing extreamly well, and then show one American who made the USA look dumb. This fact really frustrated me. Am I the only one in this country who cares about patriotism? The show is called AMERICAN Idol. Not ''Pick-my-nationality." I will be the first one to say that the foreign people who were sent through to the Hollywood round, could sing better than most of the people on there...but I do not think that they should be the next AMERICAN Idol. To me, a American Idol is someone who shows true patriotism and is a American through and through. Not someone who came to live here two years ago. I feel that if someone is going to be an American Idol, they themselves should be American. Simon started the show in England for people from that area, and that show was meant for people of that region. Now we have our show for people from our region. How do you guys feel about this? Do you think people from other nationalities should be able to be the next American Idol?

This blog is in response to Axe's quote "Always seek balance"-Dealing with country/rap music. I want you to know that I am not defending country music, because we all know that there are some songs out there that consist of being a alcoholic and some others that talk about wanting a mate dead. As catfishingdude said ''Country music as a whole, is not!", I agree. Country music is not NEARLY as violent as rap music. You pointed out two country artists (Johnny Cash and Dixie Chicks) that you thought were violent, so I am going to point out two artist from the hip-hop community that I feel is overly-violent. First of all, I want to point out 50 Cent. Not only are all of his albums abusive towards women and violent, I can not post the lyrics to the chorus of songs. He has a song entitled ''My Gun Go Off", that talks of shooting individuals. He also has a song entitled "Man Down" that consistantly speaks on murdering people. You can not sit there and tell me that I don't know about rap music because I was a huge fan of the hip-hop community when I was younger. I will not lie, 50 Cent was one of my favorite hip-hop artists...Until the day that I read his lyrics. You CAN NOT tell me that his lyrics on the new album "Curtis" speak on subjects that bring light into the world. So thats one artist, now its time for the final one; Lil Wayne. I also know from being a fan of Lil Wayne that he is very derrogatory towards women. I am not going to try to post the titles of the songs on his new ablum, but I am going to talk about some of his past songs. He has a song entitled ''Prostitute Flange" that was on the last album, that speaks of the woman whom he is sleeping with is a prostitute that ''hits up every guy on the block'', but it doesnt bother him. This is shameful for me to even THINK about. Much less listen to, or let someone younger than me listen to. Another song he has is entitled ''Zoo" which speaks of murdering people. Now, tell me why I feel as if Im reading a Porn book when I look at hip-hop lyircs? I DARE you to go to
www.azlyrics.com and look up some of these people and read their lyrics. Oh but wait, you probably know them already. I, as a woman, feel disgusted and degraded reading those lyrics. I can not believe the women who dance in those videos; They are portraying themselves as hookers to the rest of the world. These songs make me hurt for every woman out there who has ever been degraded by a man in this manner. Women were not put on this eart to be treated like this, and spoken of in this manner. I cant believe I went so long, foolishly listening to this stuff. I one day happen to be looking for some lyrics to a song when I started reading some others. That was the day I stopped listening to Rap music. You can do what you want and listen to what you want, but please dont EVER say that Country music is more violent than Rap/Hip-hop. I could go on for days about this subject, but I feel as if I have said enough. Just consider what I have said and re-evaluate what you said about ''find the balance''. There is no balance in the hip-hop industry. Just murder, drugs and sex. Just think about it....Thats all Im asking.

Today I was browsing through blogs, wondering what my next blog should be about. It wasn't until i saw
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XG0YrDMeVvI that I decided to do a blog on Animal Cruelty. If you do not have a YouTube account, I will fill you in on what the video is about. This video is about the treatment of animals in order to get furs. This video is very graphic in showing exactly what they do to animals to obtain these furs, and what they do is legal! Do you want to know why it is legal to treat animals in this manner? Because of the people who want to wear fur coats. THAT is why. Just because those people want to gloat to the whole world about how much money they spent on that coat, animals have to suffer horrible deaths. Just so you can look good and impress your employees or coworkers, you are making hundreds of animals die a death of horror and pain. How would you feel if someone were to take you and tie you up so you cant move, and skin you alive? How would it feel? Thats what these animals are going through. I do not care who you are, Animals have feelings too. They get scared, just like humans. They get sad, just like humans. They get happy just like humans. Why treat a harmless animal like you wouldnt treat yourself? Animals can not stand up to a grown man kicking and beating them. Why? I guess that is my question. Why do you want that fur coat? Why do you want to make helpless animals suffer? God did not put animals on this earth for us to kill so that we could look nice. He put them here for us to enjoy and love. I hope that every person who owns a fur coat sees that video. It breaks my heart to think of animals suffering in any way...especially so someone can gloat about what they own.
Those people make me sick to my stomach....

Like many people, I decided to attend the High Point Christmas Parade. The Parade was wonderful, and I had a great time. But what confused me more than anything was the fact that I heard "Crank Dat" by Soulja Boy about five times throughout the Parade. Where I come from, Christmas parades are about CHRISTMAS MUSIC, Frosty the Snowman and lots of church floats. The fact that this song was played so often, or even once for that matter, really bothered me. Christmas parades are suppose to put people in the spirit of Christmas; not in the mood for a party.
Did anyone else go to the Parade? If so, or even if you didnt, What do you think about people being allowed to boom Crank Dat from their music systems?
