Spring fever is hitting me early this year.  I saw a Bradford Pear tree in full bloom yesterday and just seeing the flowers brightened my whole day.  I'm a SAHM, and during the winter months it is just depressing when you stay inside more because of it being cold or windy.  The little kids get grumpy and they are bored.  Gas is expensive so mommy field trips are at an all time low.  Don't get me started about all the sick germs that have been going around this year.  The kids have constantly battled colds and we had one scary bout of strep throat with my six year old.

Sadly, I also lost my grandmother back in February...so I welcome the renewal of spring, which reminds me of life as being about beginnings as well as those sad endings, which are also new beginnings on another level.

I'm looking forward to being more active again too, going on some camping trips, kayaking, fishing at the lake, going to the playground....and not having to worry about catching the flu wherever we go.

It is rainy and yucky today, but praise be for spring arriving very very soon.

I noticed today during the rain that my yard is starting to green up.

: )

Unfortunately, that means it won't be long before I have to start mowing again.

lilsumpthins, I couldn't agree with you more!!! I have been sick since Dec. 14th (the day after my birthday) with one illness after another. I had a really bad cold, started to get well a little, then got the flu for about 3 weeks, started to get to feeling like being up (but still weak) and then my son and grandson caught the flu; only it was a worse strain than what I had the first time, and I got it, again!!! I had that strain of the flu for over a month!!! I just want some warm spring weather that I can open my windows and doors and "blow all this sickness out of my house"!!! I have disinfected everything, and I feel so much better than I did, but I still want to "air out the house" from all those germs! This has really been a "miserable winter" for me because of all the sickness! We would have 2 or more sick at a time, and because my immune system isn't the best because I have lost weight being sick, I catch everything and seem to "keep it" while everyone else would get well in a week or two! Come, Spring, please come soon!!! We need you badly!!! :) I hope that you will enjoy the spring time as much as I will!!! :)

I am a 35 year old stay at home mom who is married and has four wonderful children. I enjoy kayaking, see my pictures of me and my husband on Oak Hollow lake last year. My kids are great, I have two toddlers, a six year old and a 12 year old step-daughter. There are soooo many things I am interested in that I won't bore you with a long list. Most of the time whatever we are doing it is family related. I believe it is important to be connected to your family...I have a wonderful mom and dad to thank for that. I love critters, I have a Lionhead Bunny named Pippin, after one of the Lord of The Rings hobbits, and a guinee pig named Guinee..(how original right?)I'd have more furkids if my husband would let me. Music is one of my passions, I love the guitar...wish I could play better than I do. My favorite all time Rock band is Queen...Freddie Mercury could sing like an angel. Favorite movies...we watch A LOT of movies... Pans Labyrinth Lord Of The Rings (all three) The Wizard of Oz Stardust (if you haven't seen this movie yet you have to rent it...) Night at The Roxbury Pretty in Pink Neverending Story Bridge to Teribithia I guess that is enough about me...are you MEGO yet?
