I don't know how many of you had the opportunity to go to your city's day of prayer today, but the one in Thomasville was great!  We had a great school chorus from Lexington Middle School that sang 2 songs for us.  Their prinicipal, Evan Myers, prayed for our schools.  We honored and prayed for our local law enforcement, fire fighters and EMS.  They came forward and received a token of appreciation from the City of Thomasville.  Our Sheriff, David Grice, prayed for them and our Armed Forces Personnel.  We had other special music and prayer from several pastors in our community.  We joined hands at the end while we sang "God Bless America".  There were many people there from all generations.  In the middle of our circle of prayer stood the Sheriff's deputies holding the American flag.  It was a great time of prayer for our country, our leaders, our servicemen and our community.

I am a wife and a mother. My daughter is a freshman in college, and my son is a high school Jr. We are entering our 14th year of homeschooling. God, my family, and my church are the most important things to me. I grew up in PA, but my husband is from NC. We moved here after my daughter was born. We have lived here in NC for 18 years and I would not want to live anywhere else. I was a Plan Administrator of pension plans before moving here and becoming a full-time stay-at-home mom!
