I don't know how many of you had the opportunity to go to your city's day of prayer today, but the one in Thomasville was great!  We had a great school chorus from Lexington Middle School that sang 2 songs for us.  Their prinicipal, Evan Myers, prayed for our schools.  We honored and prayed for our local law enforcement, fire fighters and EMS.  They came forward and received a token of appreciation from the City of Thomasville.  Our Sheriff, David Grice, prayed for them and our Armed Forces Personnel.  We had other special music and prayer from several pastors in our community.  We joined hands at the end while we sang "God Bless America".  There were many people there from all generations.  In the middle of our circle of prayer stood the Sheriff's deputies holding the American flag.  It was a great time of prayer for our country, our leaders, our servicemen and our community.

Thank you for the good news.
I work in the public school for neighboring county and appreciate the prayers for our young people.
I homeschool our teenage son and am so thankful for that freedom and opportunity.

It was just refreshing to see something positive. We hear so much negative today. I also am thankful for our freedom and opportunity to homeschool.

Homeschoolmom. I cannot agree more about your comment. There is so much negativity today about our country, its good to hear about this. We need much more of these kind of events and they should be covered by the media.

Angbar, there was one news station there, but it wasn't Fox. I saw they covered the one in High Point that Van was at. I agree that we should have more of these events. Our country can't get enough prayer!

I am a wife and a mother. My daughter just graduated after 13 years of homeschooling and my son will be a Jr. in the fall. We are entering our 14th year of homeschooling. God, my family, and my church are the most important things to me. I grew up in PA, but my husband is from NC. We moved here after my daughter was born. We have lived here in NC for 18 years and I would not want to live anywhere else. I was a Plan Administrator of pension plans before moving here and becoming a full-time stay-at-home mom! I am now working part-time at a daycare to help my daughter through college, but I still plan to continue homeschooling my son in the fall.
