Why, Why, Why,

Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are getting dead?

Why do banks charge a fee on 'insufficient funds' when they know there is not enough money?

Why does someone

believe you when you say there are four billion stars, but check when you say the paint is wet?

Why do they use sterilized needles for death by lethal injection?

Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?

Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks when you throw a revolver at him?

Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?

Whose idea was it to put an 'S' in the word 'lisp'?

If people evolved from apes,

why are there still apes?

Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white?

Is there ever a day that mattresses

are not on sale?

Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?

Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?

Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your first try?

How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures?

When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle with a shopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say, 'It's all right?' Well, it isn't all right, so why don't we say, 'That really hurt, why don't you watch where you're going?'

Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over?

In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat?

How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?

And my FAVORITE......
The statistics on sanity is that one out of every four persons are suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends -- if they're okay, then it's you..

Something to make you smile!

Bubba Had Shingles

Those of us who spend much time in a doctor's office should appreciate this!
Doesn't it seem more and more that physicians are running their practices like an assembly line?
Here's what happened to Bubba:

Bubba walked into a doctor's office and the receptionist asked him what he had.
Bubba said: 'Shingles.'
So she wrote down his name, address, medical insurance number and told him to have a seat.

Fifteen minutes later a nurse's aide came out and asked Bubba what he had.

Bubba said, 'Shingles.'
So she wrote down his height, weight, a complete medical histor y and told Bubba to wait in the examining room.

A half hour later a nurse came in and asked Bubba what he had.
Bubba said, 'Shingles.'
So the nurse gave Bubba a blood test, a blood pressure test, an electrocardiogram, and told Bubba to take off all his clothes and wait for the doctor.

An hour later the doctor came in and found Bubba sitting patiently in the nude and asked Bubba what he had.
Bubba said, 'Shingles.'
The doctor asked, 'Where?'

Bubba said, 'Outside on the truck.
Where do you want me to unload 'em??'

I don't know how many of you had the opportunity to go to your city's day of prayer today, but the one in Thomasville was great!  We had a great school chorus from Lexington Middle School that sang 2 songs for us.  Their prinicipal, Evan Myers, prayed for our schools.  We honored and prayed for our local law enforcement, fire fighters and EMS.  They came forward and received a token of appreciation from the City of Thomasville.  Our Sheriff, David Grice, prayed for them and our Armed Forces Personnel.  We had other special music and prayer from several pastors in our community.  We joined hands at the end while we sang "God Bless America".  There were many people there from all generations.  In the middle of our circle of prayer stood the Sheriff's deputies holding the American flag.  It was a great time of prayer for our country, our leaders, our servicemen and our community.

What do you think about the new fines in Virginia?  As of July 1st, the fees are anywhere from $750 to $3,000 to cut down on reckless driving.  I think that might make people stop and think before they speed and drive recklessly.  Should all states have this kind of penalty?  I read a report that in Davidson county in the first 5 months of this year, compared to last year, the deaths caused by car wrecks is up 64%.   I live in Davidson county, so that scares me.  People do drive crazy.  My husband and I almost got hit head on Friday night because of someone who was driving too fast on wet roads.   This person was sliding all over the road.  If my husband would not have been paying attention, I may not be typing this right now.  Something has to be done to make people more aware of their driving.   I know this is not the only solution, but do you think raising the fines to these large amounts would help?

I am a wife and a mother. My daughter is a freshman in college, and my son is a high school Jr. We are entering our 14th year of homeschooling. God, my family, and my church are the most important things to me. I grew up in PA, but my husband is from NC. We moved here after my daughter was born. We have lived here in NC for 18 years and I would not want to live anywhere else. I was a Plan Administrator of pension plans before moving here and becoming a full-time stay-at-home mom! After being a stay-at-home mom for 18 years, I am now working part-time at a daycare and homeschooling my son.
