How Swede It Is

by flatch from Da Triad

Some astute readers (and you don't know who you are yet) have asked about the Viking points I offer once in a while.  Since I've finished my coffee and my 2 bags of caramel creams (part of a wacko breakfast), I'll tell yas.

Viking points are merely a tool by which I can give you, the reader, instant "feel-good-about-thyself" gratification by passing a simple test.  Otherwise, they mean nothing, like porta-potties at Mardi Gras.

I hope this was helpful.  If not, you don't know where to find me...mwuahahaha....

I was close to being a programmer once upon a time - I did software support and training for a brief shining.

You can earn some Viking points - check out M. Painter's blog about that British yutz who sailed a $12,000 ring away...there is a chance to win points in my comment!

Answer: The "Three Sisters" or the "Three Fates" in Greek Mythology. Greek Mythology was always my favorite class in school. To elaborate..."Clotho was the spinner, Lachesis was the drawer of lots, and Atropos represented the inevitable end to life". The concept is that the fate of a human is spun at birth by divine spinners.

All right, eholder1! Not only do you get the 50 points for the correct answer, you get 10,000 points for anticipating my next question about the Fates, and 250,000 points for being born in 10/59!!! So, looks like you're this week's points leader.

But, then again, the points mean nothing; you know, they're like Anna Kournikova's tennis legacy.

On further review, eholder1 gets 2.5million Viking points just for giving a rat's.

I think she has clinched her division and may win the Leif Erickson Trophy for most points in a season.

You know, I was in first class on an airplane with Anna Kournikova a couple of years ago. She was very nice and talkative. Looks just like she does on TV. Yippee! I am the winner! But...this is the only thing I have ever won in my life...and it's worth nothing! Has to be something wrong with this picture!

Well, the points are worth something in that you got a lot of good ink in these here blogs AND you have a special place in what's left of my heart.

Guess that makes me a winner after all! Thanks for the entertainment, Flatch. We needed some light hearted fun for once!

Do I get any points for attempted funny-ness on Painter's blog?

Are you a big fan of 'Who's Line Is It Anyway?' you know the show where the points don't matter?

On further review, tagyurit gets 1.5million Viking Points for mentioning the Three Stooges and talking about eyes and scissors in the same sentence.

Big fan of 'Who's Line'? Heckfire, that was all my idea! All people talk about is the British version and Drew Carey's deal. No one bothers to talk about the breakthrough SWEDISH version!

2500 Viking Points to anyone who sympathizes. 5000 to those who believe me.

You go, Tag! You're catching up! I'll take the 2500 for sympathizing, please. You can keep the 5000. ;-)

Backgammon is just like Hearts, only there are dice and no Old Maid.

I was born after waiving extradition in October 1959. My mother was a goalie coach for the pond hockey team at a juvenile detention center. My father was the first to combine Doritos with Clearasil, thus causing and curing acne at the same time. Think of me as the one who pushes the Bull***t button on the game show of life. My interests are Swedish maritime hymnals, Victorian iodine bottles and four-digit numbers.
