How many of you folks out there realize that High Point has a Beepball Team? What is "Beepball", you may ask? Well...it is basically softball for the blind. Yes, these players are blind. Even sighted players can join, they just have to wear a blindfold so that they cannot see, which levels the playing field. This year our team has three players who have been invited to the "invitation only" World Series of Beepball in Texas. This is an awesome achievement! This invitation is, unfortunately, the problem that I am now putting before you. Twice a year, the Beepball Team has a "donation only" yard sale to produce the funds needed to keep the team going every year. The prices are not fixed, you get your goods and "donate" what you think is a fair price. While the goods offered this year were incredibly more than previous years, the economy took a toll and the sale did not produce the needed funds. One person carried off an enormous amount of stuff and only donated three dollars! Because of the shortfall, there will be another sale on July 12th in an effort to get the money needed to send these three players to Texas. That doesn't even take into account the cost of keeping the team going in the coming year. Please folks, if there is anyone out there who can help these guys, let me know. The Beepball Team deserves this and they work hard every year to support themselves. I know times are tight, but I think if we work together, we can help these guys out. If you have any interest in helping out, please email me at laney1025@yahoo.com. I will get you in touch with the person you will need to talk to. If you have money to sponsor them, great! If you have goods that you want to donate to the yard sale, wonderful! Whatever you can do to help, will be greatly appreciated!

Lawyers should never ask a Mississippi grandma a question if they aren't
prepared for the answer.
In a trial, a Southern, small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness,
a grandmotherly, elderly woman to the stand.
He approached her and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know me?"
She responded, "Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams.
I've known you since you were a young boy, and frankly, you've been a big
disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, and you manipulate people
and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you
haven't the brains to realize you never will amount to anything more than a
two-bit paper pusher.
Yes, I know you."
The lawyer was stunned! Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room
and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?"
She again replied, "Why, yes, I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a
youngster, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem.
He can't build a normal relationship with anyone and his law practice is one of
the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three
different women. One of them was your wife.
Yes, I know him."
The defense attorney almost died.
The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet voice
said, "If either of you idiots asks her if she knows me, I'll send you to the
electric chair."

Traffic
The more I drive, the more I realize that there are an awful lot of people who shouldn't drive! The ones that annoy me the most are the ones that will speed right past you and quickly cut in front of you missing you by only a coat of paint, and expect you not to hit them! What up with that? How are these people getting a license? How do they make it past the DMV? How can one go through driver's ed, the license process, a learner's permit and still be an idiot by risking everyone's life in the immediate vicinity when they drive? The ones that I am talking about are the huge risk-takers trying to get just one more car ahead. Where does that mentality come from? Where are the HP? How did they get a license? When will the roads be safe again? Is it really worth the risk to get just one more car ahead? Are they really going to get there any faster? Who really gives a flip? Just curious, mind you...

Faith
My husband sent me this email from work and I think it is worth reading for everyone. Enjoy!
Just wanted to take a moment during this crazy time of the year, to breathe and remember things happen for a reason...
The L I T T L E Things...
As you might know, the head of a company survived 9/11 because his son started kindergarten.
Another fellow is alive because it was His turn to bring donuts.
One woman was late because her Alarm clock didn't go off in time.
One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike Because of an auto accident.
One of them Missed his bus.
One spilled food on her clothes and had to take time to change.
One's Car wouldn't start.
One went back to Answer the telephone.
One had a Child that dawdled
And didn't get ready as soon as he should have.
One couldn't Get a taxi.
The one that struck me was the man
Who put on a new pair of shoes that morning,
Took the various means to get to work
But before he got there, he developed a blister on his foot.
He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid.
That is why he is alive today.
Now when I am
Stuck in traffic ,
Miss an elevator,
Turn back to answer a ringing telephone .
All the little things that annoy me.
I think to myself,
This is exactly where
God wants me to be
At this very moment..
Next time your morning seems to be
Going wrong,
The children are slow getting dressed,
You can't seem to find the car keys,
You hit every traffic light,
Don't get mad or frustrated;
It May be just that
God is at work watching over you.
May God continue to bless you
With all those annoying little things
And may you remember their possible purpose.
Pass this on to someone else, if you'd like.
There is NO LUCK attached.
If you delete this, it's okay:
