April 30, 1999, a gas out was staged across Canada and the U.S. to bring the price of gas down, and it worked. It's time to do something about it again.
Only this time lets make it for three days instead of just one. The so-called oil cartel decided to slow production to drive up gasoline prices. Lets see how many Canadian/American people we can het to ban together for a three day period in April, NOT TO BUY ANY GASOLINE, during those three days.
LET'S HAVE A GAS OUT! Do not buy any gasoline from JUNE 8, 2008, THROUGH JUNE 10, 2008. But what you need before the dates listed above, or after, but try not to buy any during the GAS OUT. Also, if you do buy gas before or after the dates listed read this a cautionary note. It might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies import Middle Eastern oil:

Will the food riot of 1917 be repeated?
During World War I, wartime inflation severely taxed the limited budgets of working-class families. Although wages also rose during the war, they could not keep up with prices. On February 20, 1917, after confronting pushcart peddlers who were charging exorbitant rates for necessities, thousands of women marched to New York’s City Hall to demand relief. The "food riot" precipitated a boycott campaign that eventually forced pushcart prices down. Women in Boston and Philadelphia took similar action.
In addition to the gas out, on the dates listed above, let's have a GROCERY BOYCOTT. As long as gas prices go up, so will groceries. If we light the candle on both ends we will possibly be heard. We need to remember the Declaration of Independence about our unalienable rights being "Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness" as it states: "That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, - That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."
Also remember our Bill of Rights as we do have the right to take action and petition the Government for a redress of grievances:

In 2007, about 58% of the petroleum consumed in the U.S. was imported from foreign countries. Crude oil accounted for 83% of net petroleum imports and about 66% of the crude oil processed in U.S. refineries was imported.
China was the blame for the gas prices going up because they were consuming a large amount of oil. Now that the earthquake hit them and the roads are torn up they should be consuming less oil. Why are our gas prices still increasing and expected to hit the $4.00 mark? There should be more oil because less will be imported to China.
We are all concerned about the price of gas and groceries, right? Well, lets do something about it. We should pick a day out of the week where no one gets gas or groceries. Sunday would be a perfect day to do this because everyone could rest up for the upcoming work week. I know that not everyone in the US would do this and plus, I wouldn't know how to get the word out to everyone in the US. One day would hurt and the people in Washington would wonder, "What is going on." In turn, it would help us because the gas prices would drop. Why not? What do we have to lose by staying at home for one day a week unless you go to church? I go to church too, but I don't get gas on Sundays.
This could possibly help grocery prices too. I seen that a 39oz jug of Maxwell House coffee was $10.25 and decaf was $11.98. I remember when it was half that several months ago. I work in a grocery store and I have physically seen the prices being increased. I feel for the customers coming in that hardly have to money to pay for there groceries. Some of them can't get foodstamps because they are told they are ineligible. I hurts me because there is nothing I can do about it. I was recently told that making $1200 a month is considered poverty. If that is so then why aren't the people making this amount money eligible for help?
I think about all the money being spent outside the U.S. and it upsets me. Help was sent to the people where the tidal wave (they want us to leave them alone)......that's all fine and dandy but what about the people of New Orleans who needed and wanted the help. All the money being sent to Iraq. All of this money being sent out is ours. We got our stimulus checks in hopes that they would be spent.......we're just giving the money back. There are commercials being played on T.V. right now, in May, with Christmas tunes as the jingle so we will spend our money. We are being tricked because they have already said that the money we spend using our stimulus will either go to Sauda Rabia or China. This is not right and something needs to be done.
