100 Lobbyists for President -- Douglas ChickHaving 100 lobbyists running your campaign for President of the United States is like having 100 child molesters running the campaign for President of the Boy Scouts…both sides have a hidden agenda.  I’m sure child molesters don’t like to be compared to a Washington lobbyist, but who cares what they think? The fact is, John McCain has 100 lobbyists running his campaign.

As the American people battle high unemployment, high gas prices, a collapsed housing market, and a U.S. dollar that is sinking lower than whale poop, John McCain has clearly shown who he is loyalty to. Didn’t we learn anything from Bush’s cabinet of Enron executives where he was taking this country. Where is McCain going to lead us with 100 lobbyists?

Maybe then "we" can be proud of our country.....or not

And for some reason you believe anyone politician is different from the other?

I will be very proud, if Obama wins to have a First Lady that is "for the first time in her life, proud of our Country". Of course we will not hold her accountable for her words. Maybe she will be the one speaking with Iran, Cuba, N Korea and others in a diplomatic manner. How much further left of a senator could you find to elect? Do I need say anymore about Obama's mentor.... his words, not mine?

I will be so proud if Hillary wins to have a woman that in my opinion made a bad decision with regards to her husband after he so diminished the institution of the Presidency of the US. She has lobbyists working with her also. Of course we will not mention the upcoming lawsuit. Nor should we even bring up the number of their associates/people that have died in untimely ways around the Clintons

I can only imagine where the 100 lobbyists you refer too will lead us with McCain. I am very grateful for his service to our nation, but a true soldier/warrior would not accept being labeled a “war hero”. He would say ”I was just doing what I had to do”. A soldier would fully support the GI Bill and he does not. You would think he, out of all of the candidates, would more than appreciate the men and women in our armed forces with a greater understanding as to what this nation owes them.

douglaschick21 this is a response to you, but if you hold true in form, you will not respond or reappear. I am not a stalker and this is not a personal attack against you. Just fact. What is up with that?

All the candidates have issues and things I do not like.

Everybody is a "special interest."

The Enron comment is fallacious.

The Left's special interest is government taking over and running our lives.

I gotta agree with bleechers.

A, "Special Interest," tends to be defined as anyone other than ourselves. The problem with getting rid of them is that the First Amendment says, "Congress shall make no law ... abridging the freedom ... to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

So, until that's repealed, lobbyists are protected by the Constitution. The real trick is electing people who have the integrity to do what's right for the greatest number, despite those addressed grievances. The problem is, voters tend to respond to a promise of some goody from government, rather than a collective sacrifice that leads to delayed gratification.
