Have You Forgotten?

Have You Forgotten? By: Darryl Worley
I hear people saying we don't need this war
But, I say there's some things
worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground
We
didn't get to keep 'em by backing down
They say we don't realize the mess
we're getting in
Before you start your preaching let me ask you this my
friend
Have you forgotten how it felt that day?
To see your homeland
under fire
And her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers
fell?
We had neighbors still inside going thru a living hell
And you say
we shouldn't worry 'bout bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
They took all
the footage off my T.V.
Said it's too disturbing for you and me
It'll just
breed anger that's what the experts say
If it was up to me I'd show it
everyday
Some say this country's just out looking for a fight
Well, after
9/11 man I'd have to say that's right
Have you forgotten how it felt that
day?
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away
Have you
forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside going thru a
living hell
And we vowed to get the one’s behind bin Laden
Have you
forgotten?
I've been there with the soldiers
Who've gone away to
war
And you can bet that they remember
Just what they're fighting
for
Have you forgotten all the people killed?
Yeah, some went down
like heroes in that Pennsylvania field
Have you forgotten about our
Pentagon?
All the loved ones that we lost and those left to carry on
Don't
you tell me not to worry about bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
Have you
forgotten?
Have you forgotten?
This is the real reason why we should remember and to thank the troops that are fighting for the greatest country in the world, The United States Of America!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*Remember Our Troops! Happy Memorial Day!*
Mike Easley: GET A GRIP!

Yesterday, Mike Easley said that we should let Illegal Immigrants go to NC community colleges for free! What are we going to next, give them free gas!? This really makes me mad, I am a 22 year old college student trying to pay out of pocket for all my school and books and I'm just about broke and I will have to end up paying for illegals to go to college FREE, I don't like it one bit!.
I can't even get any help whatsoever! I know some of you whether parents or students are im my same shoes. Mike Easley, you need to stop and look around! ANOTHER THING! If we do give them free tution and free books and they go to college we are going to have the same problem with the language issue that we are in Elementary/middle/high school now! What if the illegals (going to school FREE of charge) drop out of school? What are you going to say about that Mike? You let illegals go to school, screwing the students that try and want to make a living for themselves like me!
I am going to be paying $150 for ONE book for this summer class I will be taking,
Do something about the Book prices Mike to help the NC/U.S. citizens! Mike you've already endorsed Hillary, you need to GO!
Congratulations to Ross Coppley

We need more judges like this!

Man Gets Three Years For Puppy Toss--
CHARLESTON, S.C. -- An incredulous judge sentenced a man to three years in prison for tossing a 10-week-old puppy off an apartment balcony during an argument with his girlfriend.
The puppy was in a soft-sided container, suffered head injuries and had to be put to death.
Javon Patrick Morris, 22, apologized for throwing the puppy off the balcony last March and pleaded guilty to animal cruelty.
"You mean he threw a helpless animal off three floors because he was mad at someone?" Circuit Judge Edward Cottingham asked a prosecutor before sentencing Thursday.
The judge, who has owned nine dogs, said he was obligated to issue a tough sentence.
"There is nobody in this world that can understand that," Cottingham said.
He sentenced Morris to five years, suspended to three years in prison and two years of probation. He also ordered Morris, who will be eligible for parole in 20 months, to get anger management counseling.
"I've got to send a message to all dog lovers that we are going to protect that interest in our courtrooms," Cottingham said.

The Speecheasy Device
Sep 6, 2007 | 12:31 AM PST
Category:
News
I'm sure many of you have heard of the Speecheasy device that fits in your ear that dramatically helps people stop stuttering. If you haven't here is the website about it www.speecheasy.com also go to you tube and search for speecheasy and it'll bring up some videos about it.
It is fairly expensive around $4,000-$5,000. I myself have a mild-severe stutter and a couple years ago I tried one out. I could tell a difference the moment I tried it! If I remember right, I read a paragraph containing about 6-7 sentences. The first time without the speecheasy and the second with. The first time I stuttered a lot and the second time I hardly stuttered at all. I also took the speecheasy out in public for about an hour or so and I could still tell a difference. Unfortunately, we did not and still do not have enough money to get me one. We contacted the local Vocational Rehab and they said that I was not qualified to receive help from them. We are in the process of trying to contact them again...but we still have our doubts. I have been praying that God would somehow let me receive the money to help me get one because I believe it would change my life if I got one. You do not know what I have to go through sometimes when I speak unless you experience it yourself.
I am currently 21 years old, in college, and planning on studying either Engineering or Meteorology when I transfer to a four year college. This speecheasy device would help me tremendously not only in college but also the rest of my life. I am also at that age where I have to do things on my own like search for jobs, talk on the phone, meet new people etc. and my stuttering hinders my ability to do some of things a non-stutterer does without thinking, on a daily basis. I just wish one day I could stop stuttering. If I had one wish I could make, I believe it would be to stop stuttering. I know that sounds strange to you non-stutters but if you were in my shoes, you would probably feel the same way.
If anyone knows any groups/organizations or even individuals that could possibly help me obtain a speecheasy device, please let me know. I would really appreciate it!
Thanks!

The Vick Situation

News
I'll get to the point....
I am glad the NFL has suspended Vick because he does not deserve to play football for any NFL team ever again, they also need to take every cent he has earned away. He does not derserve a second chance! I can see them letting him back in if he commited a misdemeanor or something like that but he has committed felonies and has killed many living animals! They need to make an example out of Vick and show everyone that even if you are rich and popular, you are still under the law. Also, for those who think that this is wrong because the media and all is covering this story more than a human death, just think about it. He killed many dogs by electifying, strangulation, and drowning. If he can do this to dogs, what do you think he would do with humans. This man is sick and anyone involved with dog figting has a sick mind and they need help. I hope he goes to jail for a long time and gets help while he's in there.
God Bless our troops!
What is up with that?

There is a rabid raccoon in Thomasville endangering many people including senior citizens, why won't they shoot it? They said because it was either beside a tree or car but hey it is endangering people! Why do they have to have a special permit to trap it?
But yet the bear did not have anything wrong with him, just trying to find it's way home and BOOM it is shot and killed! Doesn't make any sense to me!
That rabid raccoon is more dangerous than that bear was! What's wrong with these people!?
Did you all hear about this!?

Bill O'Reilly did a segment on tonight's show and he talked about how the rapper "Nas" is going to peform at a benefit concert at Virginia Tech in a couple weeks when school starts up there to benefit the families who lost loved ones in the VT Shootings.
The problem is Nas has been convicted on some charges involving weapons and he talks about killing people and murdering in his songs!
Get this...the VT newspapers, ran by students said that they do not want that rapper there but the Vice President doesn't seem to understand! The is very confusing to me because I do not understand why they would let someone come to a benefit concert for murder victims to sing about killing people!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE!? They are CRAZY to allow this rapper to sing at this benefit concert!
Here is the link to the address if you would like to send a email to the Vice President of VT. http://www.billoreilly.com/blog;jsessionid=CEBF189A8AF

Westboro "baptist" church

Every time this church comes into the spotlightit just digusts be at what they stand for. I was just on their website
www.westborobaptistchurch.com and they just out digust me. The have made a mocking of our patriotic songs, they praise our soldiers for getting killed, they have just made a mockery of what the United States stands for. It just really saddens me that there are people out there that are like this. I wish I could get in a debate with this church (wait...that would probably be bad if I did....lol) These people sicken me and I don't consider them a church whatsoever.
Good Luck Cindy!!!!!

Cindy,
I just wanted to wish you a safe and succesful surgery tomorrow! You will be missed on the morning and noon newscasts!!!!! I wish you the best of luck and I look forward to your return!!!!
Last August during the tax free weekend, my dad and I rode out to my college bookstore to get my books for the upcoming semester. It was the day before the tax free weekend started and we were wondering the books we were fixing to by would be considered tax free if we would wait until the next day. The workers in the bookstore called around and found out that any school supplies UNDER $100 would be tax free.
WELL, I had to buy 5 books and only one was under $100!!!!! My math book was around $140 and the other three was around $115. The one that was under $100 was like $87.
Sure, the tax free weekend does help with clothing, dorm supplies, pencils, paper, etc. but when it comes down to helping the college student with their classes it doesn't help hardly at all!!! This year I am having to buy about 5 more books including one that is $140! My math book last spring was $198!
Fox8, if yall have any extra time could you find out any information about this and if anything could be done to change it? I would really appreciate it!
I just wanted to let every know that Ross Coppley won the first Gimme The Mike show in Charlotte last night on WSOC. He will be in the live finalie show Aug. 1st!! It was taped back in June and the Ross Coppley fan club (inclyding me) went to the Original Steakhouse sports bar last night to watch it on TV. The did not have that channel and it was about 8:25 and the show started in 5 minutes. So, the restaurant called this restaurant called DJ's Deli on Innes street right beside of Krispy Kreme, to see if they had the channel and if we could come watch it. They said yes we could. So, by that time we had already ordered at the first restaurant so we told them that we would go watch the show at DJ's and then come back and eat there. So we arrive at DJ's, go in, sit down, start watching the show and the manager (he was foreign...possibly Greek) came over and said are yall going to order anything. We told him the whole order and everything and he charged us $93.94 to watch the show!!!!!!!!! He said that if we bought anything it it had to be $5.95 a person. We went back to the other restaurant and they gave us free drinks and desserts! Please everyone tell your friends to not eat at DJ's Deli in Salisbury because they are very rude! The guy stood at the door the whole time we were in there as well. He was a jerk! Also, we told the DJ's manager God Bless when we left and a 8 year old was like, "HAHA God Bless HAHA!" That whole situation made us mad as anything.
On a happier note, go to www.rosscoppley.com to watch some video of him singing at the Summer Stroll in Uptown Lexington the other week! You can also listen to him at www.myspace.com/rosscoppley
He is down in Atlanta right now working at Wild Bill's Country nightclub (the largest nightclub in the U.S.) He will be down there for a year and a half. If everything goes well he will open for Eric Church on Aug. 3rd!
We will be starting a offical Ross Coppley fan club shortly, I will post information about that later on. We will be having shirts, CD's and possibly autographed pictures for sale!
