Scotty,
My heart is so heavy right now I'm not sure what I'm going to do. You were my second son. I will miss your dances in my living room, your smile and just the way you filled my life with light. I will miss you and Donovan fighting daily about you always being late(smile) LOL. I can't describe the pain I feel right now but I know you are with me now and always. I love you Ms. Marilyn.
RIP My "other baby"

TO why are you whining again? In the Redskin game they threw you the ball how many times and you caught how many? Looks and sounds like you are a self centered useless human being TO. Face it the world revolves not around you like you want it too. Its best to save YOUR whine for the cheese being served at the local Taco Bell..... Getta life TO and stop trying to ruin the lives of your team mates.....

"He was a victim of the times and we need to set the record straight - clear his name - and recognize him for his groundbreaking contribution to the sport of boxing," said Rep Peter King, R-N.Y., author of the resolution.

I agree 100% with doing this. This man was one of, if not the best that has ever been in the sport to date. On the other hand, is this something that has to be done right now? The man has been dead since 1946. I think we have a few more pressing things to work on at this time. Maybe I'm wrong, but maybe this is something our do nothing congress can do !! Git-R-Done ASAP

As a student at Lexington Senior High School, I want to say that I am proud of our football team so far this year. At LSHS, our jacket pride is held to a very high standard and it runs through our blood. Our school is filled with pride and we love our Friday Night Football. We havent won all of our games, but every single one of our football players have put in a lot of effort and time. I just wanted to say GO JACKETS!!!

As some of you know, I'm training for the Marine Corps Marathon again. Last year, I decided to give it a try with the sole intent of just finishing. I enjoyed the course, finished in 5:10:24 and considered that goal met.
This time, I want to have a better finishing time, so I am consulting a running coach for some training advice. In my introduction to Jackie, I told her "I look like a giraffe when I run." That's actually quite accurate -- long arms, legs and neck, short body and, well, you've seen giraffes run, right? It's not pretty to watch.
It's important to note that my friends who have also consulted Jackie are Boston marathon runners, built like sandpipers -- petite, light and built for running. I thought it a good idea to let her know that I'm not of that ilk.
Jackie laughed and we moved on, but recently she told me that I needed to drop the giraffe talk and consider myself a serious athlete.
This turned my world upside down.
Jackie is the best -- don't get me wrong. She is smart and has taken
my buddies to new levels, so I have faith in her to my core. Since that request, I've done my best not to mock myself. ("I am not a giraffe. I am not a giraffe. I am not a giraffe.") I've been focused on my exercises, my training, my results... and it has sucked. (I don't know if I can write that here, but if there is a "BLEEP", you can fill in the blank.)
Now that I'm a "serious athlete", I can't help but look at every workout as a shortcoming. My heart rate was too high, my time wasn't good enough, I didn't fuel up right or have good form. You get the point. It's not fun not being a giraffe.
I'm not, nor have I aspired to be, an athlete that wins the race or qualifies for Boston. I just want to do a better job than I did last year. I am a giraffe, dang it, and as gangly and uncoordinated as I am, I have a big giraffe heart that just wants to love running again.
This is a very self-indulgent blog, I know. I just had to get the thoughts off my giraffe chest.
