Chasing storms, I set a new record for travel in a shift with Photojournalist Joe Mccloskey. At 8pm we raced out of the station in the pursuit of the unknown. We logged at least 300 miles and traveled through 7 different counties in angry rain and severe lightning. It was scary. Although, we did see the most beautiful shot of Pilot Mt. as the lightining lit up the night sky. It's 3 in the morning and we're still working.

If you watched any of our coverage, you got to hear why we're the news leader. Van and Emily kept us all safe. Neil and Julie were on the desk trying to decifer the info as it poured in live. Our photojournalists that primarily work day shifts, were roused out of bed to chase the storms with the nightsiders. Not only did they shoot amazing video, but they also gave live phone reports.

Our managers even came back to work around midnite to help steer us through the chaos. For all of you at home, there are at least 3 dozen people working feverishly behind the scenes that have a hand in getting our show on everyday that you never see. We truly are a team here at FOX8.
