Guess the first 90° day

OK everyone, put your thinking caps on. 

Most years we reach 90° for the first time during the month of May.  Give me your guess of the first date that we will reach 90° and I will mention the person(s) that is(are) closest on the air.   You must have your prediction in by Midnight, Tuesday May, 2008  for it to count and be mentioned.

Before submitting your guess, here is a list of the first date 90° was recorded each year since 2000.

2000   May 13

2001   June 5

2002   May 19

2003   June 26

2004   May 21

2005   June 6

2006   April 15

2007   May 1

2008    ?

 

My guess.......this year will be a little later than the past few years.   June 10th

This is completely my opinion, based on not much more than pure speculation, but I'm thinking that the patterns indicate that we will once again have hottee and drier days than we are typically used. Last year, we had low humidity values in the middle of the summer and temps over well over 100 degrees, but with a low dewpoint, the lows would fall back into the low 70's or even upper 60's at night. Our more typical "soupy" summers have highs in the 90's but lows only dropping to maybe 75 or sometimes even more and much higher humidity values. Based on that logic, I believe we will hit 90 for the first time pretty early again this year. I'm picking May 16th.
ps... my wife is picking June 8th.. just because it's her brother's birthday.

These blogs are a great addition for someone who likes to talk. During the weather reports, I have a device in my ear called an IFB. The producers give us a countdown and tell us when we must stop talking. You should hear them yell wrap in your ear. ? Through my blog, I am able to give you a little more and I hope you will share in these stories with me.
