Every year about this time, I get emails and voicemails asking about the year that we had snow on 3 consecutive Wednesdays.
It was March of 1960 and anyone that remembers it is now approaching 50 years of age or older. My friend and our former weatherman Frank Deal told the story every year and I think that has a great deal to do with why so many still remember that event.
The first Wednesday was March 2nd and it snowed 7.1". That was a pretty big snow. The next Wednesday, March 9th, it snowed again. This time 11.1". A real big snow.
I am sure that had people talking about the fact that we had snow on two straight Wednesdays. By the next weekend I am sure many were wondering if it could happen again. Well, it did. It snowed another 2.4" on March 16. On March 23rd, the 4th Wednesday, it did not snow, but it was cold with a low of 24 and high of only 47 and it was cloudy all day. I am sure many figured it was going to snow that day too.
Do you remember those snows?
By the way, we are way overdue for a March snow. I just thought I would mention that. :-)

These blogs are a great addition for someone who likes to talk. During the weather reports, I have a device in my ear called an IFB. The producers give us a countdown and tell us when we must stop talking. You should hear them yell wrap in your ear. ? Through my blog, I am able to give you a little more and I hope you will share in these stories with me.
