Will it snow again before winter ends?

That is the question I get often this time of year.  Typically our chances for snow drop rapidly after the 2nd week of March.  It is important to note that some of our biggest snows have fallen in March.  

Many people here remember 1960, that was the March it snowed for 3 consecutive Wednesdays.

The forecast calls for rain Thursday night into Friday, with temps being pretty cold. Is there a chance it could be something more?

I remember a big snow in March of '93, but I do not remember how much the triad got during that snow. It was on a Saturday when the snow hit. Can ya look it up for me, Van?

As far as March of 1960, my mom has told me several times about the 3 Wednesday's. She said that she had to go to school for 9 Saturdays in a row. She said that if they were out of school on one of those Saturdays it had better been a life or death situation.

North Davidson.....

The Superstorm of 93 brought 5.7" of snow to PTI.

To the east amounts dropped off quickly and to the west they rose quickly.

I know we can get some big snows this time of year. Never give up on the possibility of big deep long lasting snowfalls. We are past due

These blogs are a great addition for someone who likes to talk. During the weather reports, I have a device in my ear called an IFB. The producers give us a countdown and tell us when we must stop talking. You should hear them yell wrap in your ear. ? Through my blog, I am able to give you a little more and I hope you will share in these stories with me.
