My kids and I went to the N.C. Zoo last Saturday. They lost power in Africa! When a worker plugged in a drink machine power went out for about an hour or so. It didn't stop alot of people from trying to shop. We hopped on the bus to North America hoping we could get a slushy drink, but the power was out there, too. This was okay for me, it gave me an excuse to have a less expensive experience elsewhere, lol. But, really, I know the people of the zoo were very concerned. A hot Saturday with no power is not fun, especially with all their responsibility. There were back up generators and you could still see pretty well.Check out the pics. If you go, get the family pass, it's loaded with extras and pays for itself the second visit. You get access to marinas, too.

A great turn out despite grey clouds, again.Seems like everytime we plan something ,bad weather comes in. We're great for the drought! Today I'm writing about the awesome time of sharing I witnessed at Calvery Chapel of the Triad. They have a Pastor David McGee. Unlike most Pastors (sorry) he has a great sense of humor. He goes line by line through the bible, and he gives alot of background as to what was happening at the time. I invite everyone to experience this first hand, it is life changing. Or can be. You are welcome there "just as you are". If you have a need, prayer, food , clothes, they try to be there. We are called to serve, so don't be afraid of how we look, let us serve you! Speaking of serving, they wouldn't stop serving us. Hotdogs, hamburgers, chili, deviled eggs, potato salad, chips, soda, tea, lemonade, peanut butter fudge ice cream, cookies. They almost had to roll me outta there! If you have been invited, which you have if you've read to here, please visit ! We would love to have you. (Pastor David will even buy you a cappacino, lol)

During Spring Break 3 Kernersville students got to go on a dream trip to Washington!

They ordered room service, swam in a hotel pool, slept in cushy beds, ate exotic foods, and got to see the White House! The Cherry Blossom Festival was happening and we really had a lot of fun. The children loved the monuments, the buildings. We hoped for a glimpse of the President but sadly, didn't. Honestly we don't even know if he was in town.We did meet some very handsome officers who were protecting the streets,we thanked them, sincerly. One gentlemen cold not allow his picture to be taken, and he had the look of  a man you don't ask twice. So, I thanked him, also, and scooted on out of there. Traffic,as you can imagine, is awful,so I was grateful for only being allowed to park an hour at a time. Having accomplished our goal, to see where the President lives, I headed immediatly towards Highway 29. I love to sight see, but there's nothing like home.Three days of luxery for the kids (Thank you, Daddy) that I had to share. It was good for me,too, I'll admit. I encourage people to use 29, there's history and beauty up and down, and it shaves 80 miles off your trip.It only takes 25 more minutes, too.

These photos are of a Suturday clean up we did at Kernersville Middle. We had two huge piles of mulch, dark grey clouds, thunder, drizzle! Nothing stopped those kids! They loaded wheel barrel after wheel barrel, taking turns and cracking jokes. We rushed because of the weather, and it held back until we finished. It was an awesome time of service to the community. Neighbors came out and pulled out a tree with a truck! What fun for the children to see! It was a joy more people should share, we could have knocked out both piles with a few more people. Several moms brought snacks and drinks, thank you. Let us know when you need help, Kernersville!
