I.D. Cards for Sale

I.D. cards for sale at the 11acre Flea Market. A company based out of Florida called Numedia International LLC. advertised they will be at the Flea Market in Thomasville this weekend. People can buy a NON-Governmental I.D. at the Flea Market and take it home the same day. Que Pasa ran a full page in their last newspaper edition and a half page ad in the edition before.

Members of the Latino Action Round Table Committee in Lexington believe Numedia is targeting illegal immigrants because they are so desperate for any sort of documentation. The Round Table Committee fears people palnning to buy an I.D for $90 don't realize the I.D. won't do them any good.

The Executive Editor of Que Pasa added a headline to the advertisement before it ran warning people the I.D.cards are not issued by the government. Que Pasa plans to retract the ad and warn hispanic readers about these types of I.D cards.

There obviously is a lot more to this story, but I'll cut myself off here and open the flood gates.

I work with four Latino's who views this as a complete rip-off, and has already told others to avoid this. They're well aware of the fact that those ID's are useless

It would be nice if it were a "sting" by INS officials. Round up all the ones w/o proper docs, and put 'em back on a southbound train.

My first thought as I watched this story was, why did the Hispanic 'newspaper' run the full page ad in the first place, knowing that it was fraudulent??? But, I guess 'money is money' regardless if the newspaper is Hispanic or any other part of society, since we regularly have fraudulent ads ran in what is 'thought' to be reputable 'newspapers' in our area!!! I hope that this will only 'entrap illegals' and will not take away the hard earned money of the people who are here legally!!! (And FarmTruk, the INS officials aren't smart enough to pull off something as simple as this would be! LOL!!!)

Good idea, Farmtruk! But, I agree with Sea, they aren't smart enough to pull off a plan like that! Plus, it would require having to do some REAL WORK!! LOL!!

Hey Dontbeignorant, You are right, but almost all are from Mexico. You are the one that is talking ignoramiously. Why don;t you go down to the Thomasville Flea market this Saturday and then say what you said. They are not talking about ancestors nor was anything mentioned about ancestory. GIVE ME A BREAK, OR SHOULD I SAY, GIVE EVERYONE A BREAK.

Latinos, Mexicns etc. have taken over the Thomasville flea market. Very few whits go to the flee market anymore. The Mexicans come in by the carloads buying and selling. You caN GET JUST ABOUT ANYTHING you want from Calvin Klein jeans(fake?) to live chickens. It's wall to wall Hispancics. Iwouldn't go there.

dontbeignorant2...If these illegals had come thru Ellis Island...they wouldn't be illegal.

Don't try to compare what my ancestors did generations ago, legally, with the millions of border-jumpers coming north today.

And IIRC, our state officials do not have legal authority to deport illegal immigrants. That's fine. Let's just ship 'em north to D.C. Drop 'em off at the foot of the Capital. I wonder how long it'd take to get some action from our congressmen and women if they had a couple million illegals roaming around at the bottom steps of the Capital? I'd bet we'd get some action then.

Most of the imigrants in NC are hispanic, but move North and West a little and most of the immigrants are Asian. Tell George Bush to close the border so the 4000-5000 illegals aren't crossing the Arizona Border DAILY. It isn't just Mexicans crossing that border. I was in Mexico City in January, and in the bars half the people were of arab discent. They are crossing this free border too.

Sorry majestic. mispelled word Whites, I jus'got to the 3rd grade. They have the same chance to getting into heaven as I do. You know what you do to do to make it, whether they do or not I don't know. I would witness to them but we seem to have a language barrier.I haven't learned to speak Spanish yet.I don't know what you are getting at when you say the same heaven as mine. I didn't know that there was more than one.

As far as shipping them to Washington, they probably all have them working for them down at there home, Whattya think?

I'm sorry MsKittyKitty,

I was just stirring the pot. I try not to stereotype an entire group of peoples. There are good and bad people in every group. I try to look for the good in people first, though I'm an antagonist here. It's interesting to look at the cross-section of social behavior.

Leah, the ID's are made similar in colors to our licenses and they used a catch-word phrase about holograms. It is one more person trying to take advantage of the uninformed, just to make a fast dollar.

There is a house for sale next door to me. A group of mexicans are really look ing at it. they have been over several times. There is 2 out building that are very large, large enough to put 3 or 4 families in. Comprendo Amigo?

The guy that Fox8 interviewed as the owner of that company is one of the best con man I have seen.You say the law can't touch him,it makes no difference,I believe sooner or later a couple dissatisfied customers will bust his bubble and probably more, then he will realize who he has been stealing from.........Roundup a couple hundred illegals at one time ? How much will that cost and which agency foots the bill and where are you going to keep them while they are I.D.ed and who is going to feed them and give/pay for medical treatment till they're deported and who is going to feed the families left at home and how are they getting back to Mexico and who pays for it ??? Do you see where we're at folks ?
