If we drill for oil in the U.S.or offshore and if we build refineries and if we put Americans to work on them and if that oil is still no cheaper than what we're paying now it will definitely be our oil and we definitely will not be depending on somebody else's good mood to sell us oil and definitely no one will be dieing over it.

Jimbob
Makes sense to me, but I am not one that would ever be referred to as an xpurt.
I would just like to think that gas refineries right here in the US were refining gas at max capacity, but they are not.
Now what does the law of supply and demand tell us? Exactly!
The greed of an Oilnopoly is good and allowed as long as you do not forget to oil squeaky wheels and keep those needy pockets full.
Who said the oil companies are not interested in a Green healthy future for the world?

Jimbob,
I have to agree with Hank, the American public has shown that at $3.50 + we will still consume the same amount as when it was $2.00 why would I ever increase production or lower prices. We have the misconception that we are entitled to cheap energy. We will be charged what the market will stand. I still believe that enough people don't really give a s**t... because for the most part they aren't willing to do things in their daily lives that might help reduce the demand and therefore lower the price at the pump....so damn the prices... it's just money....full throttle....full speed ahead! as long as "I" get where "I" want to go today who cares if you don't have or can't afford the fuel tomorrow as long as "I" can that's all that matters.

We don't have much choice, is the sad part...

We'll keep buying oil because of the "World Economy" and "World Politics" anyway

Half of them would love to see us dstroyed anyway, yet we keep sending food, money, and mecicine...Oil just gives a reason for it not being a "handout", which even the dumbest citizen would raise Holy Hell about...

I agree we need to make ourselves independant from the rest of the world. We need our own oil and to bring jobs back here. If jobs keep leaving this country it really won't matter how high gas prices get no one will ba able to go anywhere, therefore we will not be able to buy gas or buy all of the foreign junk.
