New York to recognize gay marriages Gov. David Paterson of New York has told state agencies to recognize same-sex marriages performed in states and countries where they are legal .A memo instructs state agencies to revise policies and regulations to recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states and countries.

I will never accept or see this as a moral, respectable behavior.

If you're not gay, why care?

Exactly mrmajestic! Although, everyone does have a right to their own opinion, there are times when we must just agree to disagree. There's nothing wrong with people loving each other and wanting to make a commitment to love and support each other. What gets me mad is people like Mr. Hill and others who want to claim it's unacceptable behavior. What business is it of theirs? I, mean, if you're not gay, why do you care? If you're against gay marriage, don't have one. The government should not tell you who to love and it shouldn't be able to tell you who you can or can't marry. And nobody else should either.

I wish legislators and Gay couples would use a different word rather than "Marriage". How about a word that represents "Civil Commitment"?

woodhpu you said "everyone does have a right to his or her own opinion" and I have stated mine. Disagree with me if you will, as it is your option to do so.
I do not expect to alter your viewpoint nor did I expect everyone to agree with my blog opinion.

While viewing nature I have yet to see 2 males or 2 females fight over another of the same sex for a mate.

Being gay/homo is not a normal respectable action. This is not morally correct and allowing this action as acceptable is wrong. I care because what you allow and accept today becomes a livable perception tomorrow. Sadly enough today has already turned to tomorrow and your viewpoint is accepted, by many, as a normal acceptable life style.

Children are believers in what they see. So they are taught and this teaching is wrong! You nor anyone else has a right to teach a child that gayness is an OK lifestyle.

When the bible is revised and reads differently and refers to 2 of the same sex in Garden of Eden then and only then will I consider dismissing my views on this subject.

... Gen 2:4-3:26), God molds Adam from the dust of the Earth, then forms Eve from Adam's "side" (rib in the King James Version), and places them both in the garden, eastward in Eden.

The name Eve means "to live." In the bible Eve was Adam's wife and the first woman.

I agree with HankHill. You are entitled to your opinion, but you are not entitled to your own truth.

Gays become partners not married people. Please dont insult me by showing them getting married in city hall. I dont need or want to see this disgrace.

Smoky, Hank,

I don't care for it myself, but like any other male, I'm happy to watch two women. That said, its the Muslims who find this deplorable and one of the many reasons they want to end our way of life. Live and let live. Don't you have more to worry about than what two consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home? Don't want to be around gays? Then don't be around them. If they get a tax status together, good for them. Calling it marriage doesn't necessarily make it so.

Gays bring a lot of this upon themselves. You don't hear of heterosexuals claiming their so called "rights" are being denied because they are straight. I could give five cents less of a damn whether someone is gay or not when I am doing business. Sexuality isn't a part of my job or the jobs I have others do. There is no reason to even bring up sexual persuasion in business. Gays typically have identity problems, therefore they are constantly looking for level acceptance. The only manner in which they separate themselves from other members of society is bringing up their sexuality. I don't really care what your sexual pursuasion is, as long as you're not trying to pusuade me. That'll get you a reaction that you're not looking for. If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands.

I guess I have no more to worry about and nothing else to do MrM
If it was confined within their home, but it is not.
This is anymore a very open lifestyle
Here is a scenario for you. Actually happened
2 gay females decided to have a baby and one was inseminated.
Baby was born and is 6 or so now. During Sunday school as the story goes another child says to the boy, why do you have two mommies? MrM it will never stay in their home.
As I have said these people have no right to suggest, or plant a seed, or teach by action to any child that this lifestyle is an acceptable option.
Live and let live sure sounds good, but this shoe is not a very good fit for me and mine.
People are too worried about being politically correct than doing and saying what is right for themselves and their family.
As you can tell MrM my opinion by itself means very little and changes nothing in the world. My opinion is one of the things I can say is still mine. So far I am not taxed on it.
I respect your opinion on this, though to a degree we are just on different tracks.
I do not really see this blog as any less important that any other blog I have read and I suppose your questioning of my time and effort could be asked to everyone of them.
Respectfully
I am sure we will converse again - Hank

After reading your last post we are very close on this. At least until it comes to the children and that will bring out the most and as you said a response. We agree on most of this mrmajestic.

A humble cause, although: kids are growing up in crack families and learning to steal, lie, use hard drugs, stay out of work, beat the system, settle arguments with a gun or knife, or run in packs like wild dogs with killings and mutilation for initiations. Ignorance begats ignorance. At least they aren't able to begat. Choose your fights. I respect your opinion, but that and $3.50 will get you a cappucino at Starbucks.

When there are more bad examples then good the bad will over rule, you make a very valid point MrM about how some kids grow up, the gay people I have knowledge of grew up seeing or being the victim of abuse or being told or picked at because the didn't fit the mold of what was decent and of high moral standard. I still say you can talk all you want but when little children can be sexually abuse in church by pastors and the like seems to me the examples are just lip service you can make all the laws you want but until the people have the proper examples out in the forefront and until those examples out number the wicked and sick of society hidden or out in the open then the filthy and immoral will triumph.

The funny thing is that HankHill and many others both in this blog and in society continue to use phrases such as "this lifestyle is an acceptable option" or "it's a choice" Gay men and women are born gay, they don't choose or make the option to be gay.
Do you honestly think that gay men and women would actually choose to be gay? If so, when did you choose or make the option to be straight? Trust me, all gay men and women would never choose to be gay just so they could be beaten, murdered and tied to a fence like Matthew Sheppard in Wyoming or battered with an ax handle, thrown on a pile of old tires soaked with kerosene, and ignited like Billy Jack Gaither in Alabama or have their heads cut off like Henry Northington of Virginia and their bodies dumped a 1/2 mile away or deal with any of the thousands of other Hate Crimes that occurred, just because the individual was gay.
Also, for all of those that want to judge others, since when did the Bible make you God and allow you to judge others? If that's the case, don't forget to read Leviticus 11:7-And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he [is] unclean to you......think about that one while you eat your morning Sausage or Bacon!

Wood are you kidding me?

God does not create men and women gay...he does not approve of it. As was said earlier, He created a MAN and a WOMAN! That's your first clue, those of you with common sense. 1 Cor 6:9 says they will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Leviticus mentions homosexuality atleast twice, even saying that the consequence for such actions is death to both.

This lifestyle choice they make that is just another temptation that the Devil makes so luring and enticing, just another ploy to 'win' over God's children. I am sure he is smiling knowing that so many members of sociey are finding it easier and easier to accept, make excuses, or simply look the other way for such behavior.

This sounds like a reasonable agreement after all is said and done...some good discussion here -

I have enough on my plate without worrying about what (or who) the guy next door does...his money is green, just like mrm said...(hope he washes his hands before he gives it to me).....

Before anybody takes that personally, I don't accept cigars from Bill Clinton, either..... :D
