Apparently Clay Aiken isn't in to making friends. Of course you all remember the incident with him guest hosting Live with Regis and Kelly. While on air, Clay placed his hand over Kelly's mouth, creating a firestorm that lasted for days. Even Rosie O'Donnell sounded off, accusing Kelly of homophobia.

Now, Clay has brought his drama to the Piedmont. Over the weekend he performed with the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra for a Christmas concert. Apparently, Clay was scheduled to perform with a number of local artists -- all of whom were canceled from the show's bill at the last moment. So, only Clay performed.

Clay certainly didn't win any fans over after that incident. Whether it was his call or "his people," it definitely was not a decision made in the spirit of holiday of giving. One of the scheduled singers, a local teen, said not only was he told he wouldn't be able to perform with Clay, but when the two took a picture together, Clay exhibited less than star-like qualities.

So what's next for Clay? Who knows, but you can bet we're all curious to see how he proceeds into the New Year. And maybe with the January start of American Idol season six, we can only hope for another pleasant southern gentleman contestant from North Carolina to steal the hearts of millions.

I know Joshua Willard because I was with him in the finals of Triad Idol. He always tells the truth, and I trust his word on what Clay did and who Clay is. I hope that Josh gets another chance to sing in front of a huge crowd... this time not 30 seconds, but a whole song.

What is with the media's obsession with Clay Aiken and more specifically trying to make the dude look bad. I understand he is a very nice guy, according to most who have met him or actually know him. He also does some wonderful humanitarian work. How about focusing on that for a change.

I travelled a long way to see Clay Aiken in Greensboro. I paid the cost of a ticket to hear Clay sing, not some unknown teenager, and I would have been very disappointed if Clay's time had been given to someone else because then I would have felt cheated.

Give me a break. All that kid has done is make himself look like a whiny baby. Fans paid to see Clay Aiken sing, not some hometown wannabe idol. Clay had 2000 fans there who came to see him perform his Christmas show and I for one would have been greatly dissapointed if his concert song list was shortened because the Greensboro symphony decided to try and force amateur singers on a crowd that paid for a symphony concert and Clay Aiken. Several times, there is a time restriction on a venue and if anything gets shortened it should not be the person whose name is on the ticket. It seems like Clay's team did the best they could to give these kids a small chance to be in the limelight and meet Clay as well as give them tickets to the concert. Seems like poor planning on the symphony's part not on Clay's part. So why blame him, blame the person who set this up without checking with Clay's team in advance. He did the best he could to give them an alternative but I guess some people just want to be known as whiners. Grow up!

Did Clay arrange for Joshua to sing and then change his mind? If so, then Joshua can be angry. If Joshua's "act" was suggested to Clay without his consent, then Joshua is a whiny teenager. Why would anyone pay good money to see some nobody sing when they paid a lot of money to see Clay and the Symphony? Good for Clay for recognizing whose name was on the ticket!

Wow, sounds to me like perhaps the this concert was ill planned. It was obvious from the 17 concerts prior that there was barely time for Clay, let alone having other singers on the stage. I doubt they were supposed to sing with Clay so perhaps there needs to be a bit more investigation into what was and wasn't guaranteed. I am amazed at the arrogance of this young man. I'm guessing the parents probably convinced him to do this. Sad.
I find it even more sad that you people are willing to stab Clay in the back at the drop of a hat. Why is he always your whipping boy? It gets old.

It is strange to me that I never hear of any 'problems' of this sort of any of the hundreds of celebrities in entertainment business. What is the obsession with complaining about Clay if he were to be misunderstood or having a bad day. It seems to me that in this instance, the venue planned it's own expanded program which would not allow enough time for Clay to perform his portion. If his team thought it would possibly disappoint many of those who paid alot of money to see Clay do his portion of the program, it may be that they needed to adjust the lineup. Clay is nothing but polite and loves children. There may have been a difference in expectaions on the part of those at the venue.

We were there that night. The conductor that night didn't even remember Joshua's name, so he can't be that well known. Sounds to me like the only way he will get his name in print is to use a REAL celebrity to slam. Poor Joshua. If you think this is the way to get your foot in the door, you are sadly mistaken. When YOUR name is on the ticket, you can complain all you want, but until then, I'd take my backstage antics, along with your stage parents and find something new to do. Your days are numbered in the music field.

Funny how all the other Symphonies had nothing but nice things to say about Clay. He was kind, considerate and a true professional. But throw in a couple of starstruck kids and we suddenly have a fiasco.

What a joke and even moreso for the news station that would actually think this is newsworthy.

People bought tickets to hear a Christmas concert by the Greensboro Symphony and Clay Aiken - not a local talent winner. Many fans traveled long distances and paid quite a bit for those tickets to hear Clay. Someone evidently misunderstood the program, , and promised things they shouldn't have promised but blaming Clay or his people for making a professional decision and correcting a mistake is unfair and petty.

Some local 15yr. old wanting to be on the stage is understandable. Thinking Clay should cut out a song or two for him is quite another. I also have a feeling that Clay Aiken might not have been the only one in that room with an attitude, based on reports of the teen's attitude on stage that night. This is a non-story, and shame on this affiliate for giving this kid a stage for his whining.

WOW, what happened to investigating before printing - very poor journalism - Clay performed exactly the same amount of time as his other concerts - he did not sing any longer in Greensboro then he did anywhere else - I paid to see Clay Aiken - I did not pay to see someone named Joshua sing - and poor Joshua got his feelings hurt but not by Clay by whoever said he could sing and I will bet that was not Clay or his Team - Clay praises his home state of North Carolina every chance he gets - he is so proud to be a native son - Too bad it is not reciprocated by the press - What a disappointment you are to print lies - Clay won't respond and he shouldn't - I

I attended the Greensboro concert. I traveled there from out of town and stayed in a Greensboro hotel, ate at Greensboro restaurants, and completed my Christmas shopping at the Four Seasons Mall. I purchased a ticket to the concert which was billed as “Clay Aiken Christmas with the Greensboro Symphony.” I spent this money to see Clay Aiken with the symphony, not other singers. Although the majority of the other concerts on this tour did not include any other singers, at this concert there was a cute little girl who sang the Hippo song, and Joshua and a girl who led the sing along. Whose idea was it to include the child singers? Was Mr. Aiken aware of this? Or was it the orchestra's idea? Did it violate his contract? Why does the media insist on running only one side of a story?

Interesting enough, the conductor of the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra couldn't even remember Joshua's name! He stumbled over it, said "I should know his name", and had to be prompted with the name - all of this in front of the entire audience while trying to announce Joshua and the girl who sang with him. Not exactly a stellar introduction. But I guess it's a better story to deride a well known celebrity instead of the conductor of a local orchestra.

Joshua actually looked pleased to be there. But he didn't know the lyrics to the song as evidenced by the huge piece of paper with the lyrics to White Christmas that he was holding in his hand.

If he plans to pursue a career in the entertainment business, I suggest that he learn a few basics: things will not always go his way, appear

I would like to add that Clay did not lengthen his show that night. His show was the same every night. This kid and his cohorts (which we saw traces of the other day even before this story hit) needs to get their facts straight.

Funny how Joshua certainly doesn't look too unhappy in his picture with Clay. I bet Joshua was hoping to be the opening act for Clay's next tour and found out that it wasn't going to happen.

Slow news day, huh?

From the story by Jeff Varner/FOX8 WGHP: “Crawford reportedly told Joshua he was being cut from the show because he was not singing Christmas tunes.”

Joshua was cut because he wasn’t singing a Christmas song. It was a Christmas concert. How is this even a story? Maybe I should ask, how many WGHP reporters does it take to screw in a light bulb?

I was at the concert and I certainly didn't pay to hear unknown local artists sing. I paid good money and traveled from the Raleigh area to hear Clay Aiken and the Greensboro Symphony, not some kid who wants to be on American Idol.

As far as winning fans over? I saw several new fans won over by Clay's unbelievable talent and incredible humor. I didn't realize that he was supposed to win new fans by letting them share his spotlight.

I don't think Clay brought "his drama" to the Piedmont. I think the "drama" is being manufactured right here in Carolina.

This is news? Seriously? A kid was disappointed...stop the presses!

Clay Aiken should realize that he is where he is because of his fans. He certainly is no better than anybody else. He's certainly nothing to look at. In my book, he's not a star either. All he knows how to do is whine. He just happened to be in the right place at the right time. I wouldn't wipe my feet on him. He puts his pants on the same way his fans do....one leg at the time. I have my own thoughts as to exactly what he is.....but that's another story.

What is it with the American Idols from North Carolina? First, Fantasia makes us look like hilbillies and turns her hometown as well as fellow Carolinans against her. Now, Clay is trying to be a bigger idiot than Fantasia! Please, please tell us that Chris Daughtry, Kelly Pickler and Bucky Covington won't make our State look bad.
