Byrd's Eye View

You're a mean one Weather Grinch...

you really are a heel..

with no snowfall in the forecast

no wintry weather glaze.... weather grinch...

You're a bad thunderstorm without the rainbow end.....

You're a pretty monster, Weather Grinch.

Your forecast's an empty hole.

You need snowflakes.. children's laughter.

Hot chocolate, sleds and happy souls.

Weather Grinch.

I wouldn't touch you, with a

thirty-nine-and-a-half foot skiing pole.

Ooo I didn't know Cindy was so dark. Has she been reading The Bell Jar?

I hope she gets the help she needs.

What ELSE do we not know? How deep IS the rabbit hole????

All I can say is...TRUE...TRUE...TRUE
You all are great. I watch you every day Emily, and you do a fantabulous job. But we really need snow. Just think of it as it's still moisture and it will still help the drought, a little. I can tell you were brought up in this area. I have never seen anything crazier than the way Greensboro reacts to winter weather ;-)

LOL, ROFL!!! Great job, Cindy, Dr. Seuss would be proud of you!!! Emily, I know everyone gives you a hard time about not wanting snow, but most of them do not have to go to work at 2am in it!!! I understand why you do not like snow. Snow is beautiful as it is falling, and it is beautiful "untouched" looking at it outdoors! But, when the snowmen start being made, there are patches of grass all around the places that the snowman was made and the children were playing! IF the snow were to linger more than a couple of days, then it turns black and gritty from the dirt and road salt that is "splashed" on it! I do not side with either, as I can stay indoors and enjoy looking at the snowfall. And, I am not a person who enjoys skiing or sledding, LOL!!! So, for everyone who wants the snow, I sing, "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!" But, PLEASE, do not empty the grocery stores from the products as we seldom have a snowfall that last more than a couple of days on the ground. The song is very good, Cindy, and you should be proud "Auntie Em" that she thought enough of you to write it!!! Love you all on the Fox8 News, Weather, and Web TEAMS!!!!

Emily, the song was pretty good, but her belly dancing was better. Why didn't you try it? As for snow, let it begin at 5:30 Friday evening and be gone, totally, by Monday morning. No slick roads, no fender benders, just gone. For 39 years, I never let snow keep me from work, and then the last time it snowed before my retirement, I was 3 miles from home, on the way to work, having passed a number of cars wrecked because of the conditions. I asked myself, "What are you doing?' I turned around, and went home, and have never regreted it. Give me sunshine and warm temps anytime.

If I can't wear my flip-flops and shorts... I'm not a happy camper. Let's bring summer back!

Brad, you sound like me! The last bad ice storm that we had in Feb. of 2002, we lost power and spent the night in a local hotel. When I went home the next day and found a tree down across our driveway and the power still not on, I told my children, "Pack your bags for the beach!" We left that Friday and came back Sunday to our power back on, the ice melted, and beautiful 60 degree weather at the beach!!! Now, that's what I love to do during an ice storm!!! HEAD TO THE BEACH!!!

Great song. Emily and Van, I have a question regarding the drought and our yearly rainfall averages. Has any research been done to see what our yearly rainfall average would be if you remove hurricane and tropical system amounts? I am just curious to see what those figures would be, since it seems as though we haven't had a system affect us the past couple of years. As for the snow, I would love to see some, but with this drought I am just happy to see rain falling. Thanks for the great job all of you do, trying to predict or difficult piedmont forecasts.

I love the weather. I love animals. I think that "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" "Bones" and "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" ROCK. As music goes: Yo-Yo Ma, Daughtry, Allyson Krauss (and Union Station), Black Eyed Peas, most any John Williams soundtrack (especially Memoirs of a Geisha and Harry Potter), Wagner, Handel, Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt, and I could go on and on.
