It didn't take long for the bloom to come off the rose.

Three days after Arkansas beat #1 LSU 50-48 (3OT), Houston Nutt resigned as the Razorbacks' head coach. Less than eight hours after he spoke to the Razorback Nation, he accepted the head coaching job at Ole Miss. I'm glad he will remain in the SEC, but I wish he would've have waited at least a day before changing schools.

Coach Nutt's family has been through such intense criticism in the past year (some self-inflicted), he had polarized as many fans as he had supporters. For the sake of the program, it was time to go.

For those of you with UNC connections, quit drinking the message boards (and CBS Sportsline.com) Kool-Aid. No way, no how will Butch Davis be "called home" to Fayetteville. The vast left-of-the-Mississippi conspiracy has provided much comic relief, but it's not going to happen.

My personal choice is Boise State head coach Chris Peterson.  Arkansas hired Houston Nutt from Boise State and I've always been fond of symmetry.
